My painting style is expressionistic; I use dramatic color and loose brush work to intensify emotional impact, usually focusing on warm positive feelings. In my work, I explore the simple elements that surround us in our everyday lives and their ability to evoke emotional responses from us. I allow myself to see beyond the physical appearance of elements and focus on expressing how I chose to interpret my environment. I believe that when we are emotionally connected to the world around us, we will fight to preserve it. I paint in Acrylics, and use glazing and layering techniques to create depth in my work. I stretch each of my canvases by hand. The act of preparing the canvas helps to clear my mind and helps me focus on the painting.
