Details: The annual Young Authors, Young Artists Conference welcomes students in grades 4-6 from public and private schools across southeast Minnesota. Students participate in active, motivating, idea-generating symposium of sessions. The conference focus is to promote student enthusiasm and competence in written and visual communication. Students will be encouraged to have fun with their creativeness and uniqueness. This program makes a significant impact on children whose writing interests range from mild avid and diverse and exposes students to the art and joy of writing. It's a great way to cultivate a child's imagination!
The Southeast Service Cooperative will sponsor the 2010 YAYA Conference on Wednesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 20, 2010 on the Rochester Community and Technical College campus. Students will come together to enjoy sessions ranging from character development, art making, poetry writing, cartooning, illustrating, comic book creation, and book arts. In addition, there will be a book sale coordinated by The Book Shelf in Winona and lunch time entertainment!
